Profile
Petite Fleur is about as simple as a rum sour gets: two parts white rum, one part Cointreau, one part grapefruit juice, shaken and poured. There is no sugar and no syrup, the orange liqueur supplies all the sweetness the drink needs, and the grapefruit juice keeps it tart enough to stay interesting rather than cloying. Because it is built on ratios instead of fixed amounts, it scales easily for a group, just keep the 2:1:1 proportion and multiply as needed. It is a good starting point if you want a lower-fuss rum cocktail that does not lean tropical or sugary the way a lot of rum drinks do.

Bartender’s tip: Use pink or ruby grapefruit rather than white. White grapefruit is sharper and more bitter and tends to bully the Cointreau, while the pink varieties are sweeter and give the drink a much better color than the greyish tint white juice produces. Squeeze it fresh if you can, since grapefruit loses its aroma in a bottle faster than most citrus.
