Pisang Cold is about as simple as a milk drink gets: one part Pisang Ambon to two parts milk, shaken cold and poured over a few ice cubes. Pisang Ambon is a bright green banana liqueur from the Netherlands, named after a banana variety grown in Indonesia. The milk softens that neon green into a pale pastel, and the result tastes a lot like a banana milkshake with a quiet kick.
Glass: Highball glass | Strength: Light | Serves: 1 | Prep Time: 2 minutes
Bartenders tip: The original asks for both ingredients chilled, and it is worth doing, since there is so little ice in the glass. Shake in a proper shaker rather than the highball itself. An ounce and a half of Pisang Ambon with three ounces of whole milk fills a highball nicely, and a pinch of grated nutmeg on top is a nice touch.
Steps
- Add the Pisang Ambon and milk to a shaker with ice and shake.
- Strain into a highball glass over two or three ice cubes and serve.
